From Doodles to the Mascot of "Hutan Itu Indonesia"

Welcome to my portfolio page that showcases the creative journey from doodles to a proud mascot for the “Hutan Itu Indonesia”. This project was initiated by me (Bagas), with a special collaboration from Zay and Zuhda, talented illustrators who have helped bring this vision to life.
About us
Bagas (Project Leader)
As the project leader, I am responsible for the ideas, concepts, and philosophy behind our organizational mascot. I also play a crucial role in transforming sketches into stunning NFT artworks.
Zay & Zuhda (Illustrators)
Zay and Zuhda are two talented illustrators who collaborated on this project. They are responsible for taking my initial concepts and sketches and turning them into captivating illustrations.
Process Flow
Ideation
As the leader of the project, I held a clear vision and concept. Our goal was to craft a mascot that encapsulates the spirit of "Hutan Itu Indonesia" (The Forest is Indonesia) in a unique artwork, intended for charitable endeavors. Following extensive deliberations, a unanimous decision was reached to adopt the Plahlar Tree (D͟i͟p͟t͟e͟r͟o͟c͟a͟r͟p͟u͟s͟ ͟l͟i͟t͟t͟o͟r͟a͟l͟i͟s͟) as our mascot icon. This choice was made due to the tree's rarity, numerous benefits, and its status as an indigenous tree of Indonesia.
Initial Sketches
In this stage, I & Zuhda started to translate his initial ideas into sketches. Every detail, every characteristic that reinforced the mascot's philosophy, was carefully considered.
Illustration
Zay & Zuhda take the sketches and turn them into detailed digital illustrations. They infuse their artistic touch to ensure the mascot and NFT artwork have an appealing aesthetic.
Public Testing
Next, we test the illustrations with our predetermined target audience. We gather valuable feedback to ensure that we produce something truly captivating and relevant.
Mascot Selection
From the various illustrations produced, we make a collective decision with our organizational team. We choose the illustration that best reflects our identity and values to become the official mascot.
NFT Creation
After we chose the mascot, I transformed the illustration into a unique digital artwork, turning it into an NFT (Non-Fungible Token). This NFT artwork became a valuable asset that could be sold to aid the organization's forest preservation initiatives.
Whatsapp Sticker Creation
The mascot illustration was also adapted into WhatsApp stickers that supporters could use to spread the message about forest preservation more widely.
Plush Toy Mascot 😍
For the creation of plush toy mascots, i was helped by Bona. Bona played a crucial role in coordinating the production process. Bona's expertise ensured that the plush toys were not only adorable but also aligned with the mascot's design. These plush toys were made available for purchase as donation merchandise, with proceeds supporting forest preservation projects.
Final Outcome
This project is a tangible example of how a strong idea, a solid team collaboration, and dedication to a noble cause can transform initial doodles into high-value artwork that supports the preservation of Indonesia’s forests. We are proud to contribute to this environmental effort and hope that our story can inspire others to do the same.
